4 Popular HIIT workouts for men

Battle Ropes

Men who have never tried battle Ropes when it comes to HIIT workouts might not know the full benefits and think this workout is only used for arm day. However, battle ropes are an excellent example of full body torching, that combines cardiovascular and strength training into one workout. Increasing your cardio capacity as well as your muscle endurance, battle ropes target most of the muscles in your body, including activating your abdominals, shoulders, arms, upper and lower back, and lower body. It’s a great way to condition your body while building power, stability and burning fat.

Note that the closer you are to the anchor, the harder the workout will be. Go full throttle making waves with the rope for 30 seconds on, then stop for 10 seconds to rest. You can alternate between different ways of handling the rope and creating waves. Repeat for 5-6 rounds to get your heart rate up and burning fat.

Sprints
Sprint HIIT workouts help you build endurance and increase your anaerobic threshold, which means that your body uses more fat during this exercise. In addition to that, this workout also burns more calories during and after your workout. An example of a sprint HIIT workout consists of running at full power speed for 30 seconds to a target mark, and then jogging for 90 seconds, on the spot or to a next target. Repeat for 5-6 rounds – believe us, it’s harder than it sounds.

Burpees

Burpees, we love to hate them, but they WORK. From a standing position, squat down low and place your hands on the floor in front of you. Jump your feet back so that you are in a full plank position with arms in front of shoulders and back straight with your feet behind you. If you’re up for an extra challenge you can throw in 1-2 push-ups while you’re in plank position and then jump back up to starting position. Complete as many burpees as you can within a 30 second timer and then rest for 15-20 seconds. Repeat for 5-6 rounds.

Rowing

Using a rowing machine is a great way to get in shape, build up your stamina and mental fortitude. Indoor rowing helps you build a stronger back and hamstrings, while improving power from your glutes and your arms. It will help build muscles in major areas such as your arms, back, shoulders, chest, and hamstrings.

Rowing makes for a great HIIT workout alone or in combination with strength training circuits. It is also a perfect exercise if you are looking for high-intensity interval training after weight lifting, if you prefer to keep them separate. Complete as many rows as possible at full power for 30-60 seconds and then rest for 30-60 seconds, just like the workouts above you will repeat for 5-6 rounds.

HIIT workouts for men can be a great complement to any body building workout routine. They’re designed to improve muscle tone, reduce body fat and help you burn calories faster while promoting cardiovascular health.

Hopefully, we’ve inspired you to consider some HIIT workouts for men or women who are looking for a new way to torch fat and build endurance. But don’t take our word for it – try one out for yourself. There’s no better way to burn fat and build muscle than through this training method, so why not see what all the hype is about?
